My focus for this entry is the bakery and coffee shop Keltic Krust in Newton, Ma. Their croissants are buttery and deliciously flaky – definitely try both the almond and chocolate ones. As the name suggests, there are some Irish items (soda bread, for example), but Keltic Krust offers a great range of standard pastries and breads as well. The atmosphere is relaxed (books for kids along the windows let you know everyone is welcome) and people working are friendly and helpful.
Sept 2011 Update: I wouldn’t recommend any espresso drinks (I’ve given their latte two tries and both were extremely disappointing), but they have a good selection of tea. We still go back for the pastries, though – they’re delicious.
