Easy Homemade Vanilla Berry Ice Cream

vanilla berry ice cream

For this recipe, I used a Cuisinart ice cream maker.  I used what was in the fridge (leftover whipping cream and my dad’s raw whole milk): you can easily use most types of milk/yogurt, just remember that less fat will result in a softer ice cream. This recipe is very quick and simple – it uses no raw eggs and no heat (great to make on a hot day!).

Vanilla Berry Ice Cream

1 C  whipping cream
2 C  whole milk
3/4 C  granulated sugar
1 t  vanilla extract
1/2 C  blackberries and mulberries (from my garden!)

Mix together cream, milk, sugar, and vanilla until sugar is blended.  Pour into machine and turn on for about 20 minutes or until almost entirely frozen.  Add berries for last 5 minutes.  Serve immediately (it will be very soft) or pour into airtight container and place in freezer for at least two hours.
